If you experience difficulty with the basic hardware or software setup procedures in this guide, check the
following table. If you find a description of the difficulty you are experiencing, try the recommended resolution.

Table A-1 Troubleshooting
If you experience this difficulty... Try this remedy...
The RS 32000 exhibits no activity (no LEDs
are on, the fan module is not operating, and so
on).
Make sure the power supply is installed and
plugged into a power source and the power source
is active. Also check whether the switch on the
power supply is in the ON position.
The power supply is installed but is not
operating.
Check the power cable and the circuit to which the
power supply is connected.
The fan module is not active. Check the power cable and the circuit to which the
power supply is connected.
If the green status LED on the power supply
indicates that it is active, immediately power
down the chassis, unplug the power supply, and
contact technical support. The fan module may be
improperly connected or damaged.
The Control Module is not active. Check the power cable and the circuit to which the
power supply is connected.
If the power supply is working, make sure the
Control Module is inserted all the way into its slot
in the chassis and the captive screws are screwed
in. The Control Module must be in the Control
Module slot (slots 8 or 9) and not in a line card
slot.
No line cards are active. Check the power cable and the circuit to which the
power supply is connected.
